• The Peoria PlayHouse is a hands-on, interactive children's museum.
• Each area of the museum allows children, along with their families, to dream, explore, and learn through play.
• It's being created by The Junior League of Peoria and will be the first and only one of its kind in our community.

The basics of the project are:

• Located in the Historic Glen Oak Pavilion
• Projected Opening Fall 2008 after Spring 2008 Peoria Zoo opening
• Cost to build is $5.25 million
• Accessible to all, regardless of gender, age or ability
• Exhibits meet IL Early Learning Standards, and are based on local environment, history, and culture
• Collaboration between JLP, Peoria Park District, and Peoria Zoological Society
• Other cities like ours already have a children's museum.
